A Guide to my 4kg Camino Pack

This ‘pack list’ came out as somewhat of a ‘travel guide’ as I wrote it. I include anecdotes about why I chose to bring things, and how I used all the items. It ended up being a combination of ‘pack list’ and ‘Camino information and tips’. I have broken out separate pages for each category of item to keep the page size manageable.

If this isn’t your first time here, or you aren’t interested in the anecdotes or explanations for all the things I chose to bring, see below for a quick reference table of my entire pack list.

Quick Reference Table

I really encourage reading through my detailed pack list sections (above) as I explain a lot more about each item. Some items I’ve linked are not the exact same as what I brought, either because that item is no longer available, or because I have found a preferable option than what I originally packed. This table alone doesn’t tell the whole story of each item. It does give you a quick place to return to if you’ve already read the full descriptions, or somewhere to land if you are looking for a basic overview of everything I brought.

Footnote:

I tried in general to link to the exact product I brought. If it couldn’t find it or it was no longer available, I linked the closest thing. I bought most things on amazon (free 2-day shipping!) I tried to offer an amazon link where possible because it should re-direct you to whatever is available if your home country (if I set up the program properly – FYI, you may have to turn off your ad blocker to ensure it redirects to your native store. *sigh*) so you don’t have to go hunting for alternates that are available to you if the original manufacturer doesn’t ship to your country. Also, if you are like me and are doing some last-minute shopping and can’t wait 2 weeks for your stuff, amazon can be a life-saver with 2-day shipping. (You can sign up for a Prime free trial if you want the 2-day shipping).

I do recommend comparison shopping, as certain products can be weirdly marked up in some countries. These are affiliate links as well (helps offset the costs of the domain/hosting). Where possible, I also link the original manufacturer. The promise I will make to you is that I did not link anything crappier or anything I wouldn’t buy just because it’s got an amazon option. These are all products I would legitimately recommend if a loved one I knew was doing this trip.

[Note that all amazon links are ‘affiliate links’ (paid links) to help me pay for the site. This is the language they asked me to use; ” As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”]
You can get a free trial of Amazon Prime. This is nice if you are shopping for a trip like this, as shipping is faster, and there aren’t (typically) ‘minimum order requirements’ so you can order things quickly as you think of them in preparation for your trip.
