leaving Legonde on the Camino

Day 29 – Ligonde to Ponte Campana

A Short Day and an Early Night

The hosts at the Albergue continued with their wonderfulness this morning, leaving each of us notes at our places for breakfast. There were warm hugs and generally good feelings all around. I did not leave until 8am.

I walked with Fem all day today. Sometimes it is nice to walk with someone again. We can talk about lots, or nothing at all, but it is nice. I walked very slowly to baby my shin. We got coffee in Palas de Rei, where I ran into Laura (from Charlotte!) again. Funny how these meetings continue to happen.

Following coffee, it was only another 4.5km to our destination (a short day today of only 13km) – Casa Domingo in Ponte Campana. We arrived at 12:05 (they open at 12) – nailed it! The setting here is very beautiful and peaceful. I find myself in a hammock again while I write this.

William from Scotland, whom we met several days ago showed up! Nice to see him again, he is a character.

The dinner was good.

It was a little more like the conventional pilgrim’s dinners from earlier in the trip, without as much care put into it. Still very tasty, but not as cozy. There was a small piece of almond cake with dessert though!

I’m getting an early night tonight (hopefully…) because the plan is to do 36km tomorrow.
