Hello! I’m Steph. I walked the Camino Frances in September and October of 2018. This was my first solo traveling experience, and it was a personal challenge for me in that regard. (You can read more about me here).
At the time I was walking, I kept a journal each day to send updates home to my family. After deciding to create this website detailing my packing list and my approach to the Camino, I decided to also post my journal entries as a blog. The timing of this has all worked out quite nicely, as I am able to post these journal entries precisely one year after they were originally written.
What are you reading?
You are reading my notes home to my family. My grandparents and my parents. My partner. My friends. I wrote these daily entries and sent them home each day so my family and friends could move through my Camino with me. Therefore, these were originally somewhat private, and not written for a truly public eye. I may make some small edits as I post to clarify things that may be important, but I do not plan to make any significant changes to my journals before posting.
The dates on the posts will be accurate to the day I wrote the journal, except they will say ‘2019’ when in reality, this all happened in 2018.
Also, because this was all for my family and friends, almost every photo I took was a ‘selfie’ (my Mom always told me to make sure there are faces in pictures!). This does not bode well for internet privacy, so I have inserted a logo over my face in any pictures that include me. It looks awkward, but it works.
I hope you enjoy reading through my journey!
